 Pericardium-stage Heat


Pin Yin: re ru xin bao
Symptoms:
aversion to heat; heat effusion; heat effusion (fever) high, peaks at night; sweating excessive.
rapid;
thirsty; prefers cold drinks.
dark urine ; [possibly] constipation; eruptions, reddish.
Pain: pain; discomfort; of torso; relieved by cold; aggravated by pressure or touch.
Affect: comatose.
Activity and movement: convulsions.
Signs:
Tongue Body: red-scarlet, intense.
Tongue Coat: absent, often in patches, or very thin; yellow; dry.
Pulse: rapid; bowstring-thready.
Pattern derived from: Construction Aspect Wind Heat, which is in turn derived from Qi Aspect Extreme Heat. Key indications for Construction Aspect Wind Heat, which are the same for Pericardium-stage Heat, are notated by red type; the additional differentiations for Pericardium-stage Heat are notated by purple type.
