Pin Yin: gan qi fan wei
Symptoms:
nausea; vomiting; belching; diarrhea or loose stool.
Pain: distension; discomfort; of ribside; of epigastrium; of abdomen; frequent changes of severity and location.
Affect: depressed; irritable; easily angered, violent.
Signs:
Tongue Body: normal, or dusky, especially of lateral edges.
Tongue Coat: normal to thin.
Pulse: bowstring.
Complexion, other: lumps palpable, temporary, may change location frequently.
Pattern derived from: Liver Invading Spleen.

  
Herbs:

--Regulate Qi; especially herbs like Rx Bupleuri that dredge the Liver Qi.

-Supplement Blood.
-- Quicken Blood, Transform Stasis
-Supplement Qi; especially herbs that are not stagnating and help to regulate Qi and transform Dampness.

Formulas:

-- Regulate and harmonize Liver and Spleen
-Promote movement of Qi (Pinellia and Magnolia Bark Decoction; Galangal and Cyperus Pill; Melia Toosendan Powder)
-Direct Rebellious Qi Downward (Four-Milled Herb Decoction)
