Pin Yin: gan yang shang kang
Symptoms:
-- This Pattern is intermediate between Vacuity of Liver Yin and Liver Fire.
: aftermath of high heat effusion (fever); fatigue; aversion to heat; heat effusion, especially in afternoon; hot palms, soles and head; nightsweats.
shallow respiration; dyspnea.
thirsty; prefers cold drinks.
dark urine ; constipation.
Pain: relieved by cold; relieved by pressure or touch; pain; discomfort; of torso; dryness; of eyes; pains sharp, stabbing; of head.
Sensory abnormalities: vertigo, extreme; loss of balance; faintness, syncope; deafness, sudden; tinnitus; vision blurred.
Activity and movement: rapid; weak; episodes of forceful, violent activity.
speech: rapid; episodes of loud voice or shouting; talkative.
Affect: episodes of anger, violence; irritable; agitated or restless; depressed; passive; withdrawn; excitable but lacks persistence.
Signs:
Tongue Body: red; fissures.
Tongue Coat: absent, or very thin; white, perhaps yellow.
Pulse: bowstring-thready; rapid.
Complexion, other: face, especially cheeks, reddish.
