Pin Yin: lian qiao
Common name: forsythia fruit
Botanical family: Oleaceae
Botanical name: Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl.

Primary action: Clear Heat Toxins
Secondary actions: Release Wind Heat
Temperature: cool
Taste: bitter, slightly acrid
Entering Channel: Ht, Lu, Lv, GB, TH

Actions:
   Clears Heat and Poison and dissipates nodules (i.e., boils, lymph node enlargements).
   Disperses Exterior Wind Heat, especially for sore throat, eyes, skin and heat effusion (fever).

Indications: high fever, mouth sores, strangury, sore throat, hard sores, lymph swelling, nodes, scrofula, heat effusion, headache, breast abscess

Dosage: 2-5 qian.
