Common name: hypoglauca yam
Botanical family: Dioscoreaceae
Botanical name: 1, Dioscorea hypoglauca Palib.; 2, D. collettii Hook. f.; 3, D. tokoro Mak.; 4, D. gracillima Miq.

Primary action: Drain Dampness, Promote Urination
Secondary actions: Clear Heat, Dry Dampness; Dispel Wind Dampness
Temperature: neutral
Taste: bitter
Entering Channel: Lv, St, UB

Actions:
   Clears Turbid Dampness of the Lower Burner; used in cloudy urine or leukorrhea; can be used in either Vacuity or Damp Heat conditions depending upon use with other herbs.
   Expels mild cases of Wind Dampness; Wind Damp or Damp Heat Channel Pain of lower back and legs.
   Clears Damp Heat of skin: eczema and sores with pus discharge.
