Actions:
   Purges Heat from Intestines, and mildly Supplements and protects Qi and Blood;
  ---used for conditions of pre-existing Vacuity of Qi and Blood with acute YangMing Organ and for other situations in which there is a combination of "clumping" of Heat in the Intestines with sensation of abdominal fullness, focal distention, and hard dry stools, with or without heat effusion (fever).

Mirabilitum (= Magnesia Sulfaricum; Natrum Sulfaricum) [mang xiao] 4
Citri seu Ponciri Immaturus, Fr (= Aurantii Immaturus, Fr) [zhi shi] 2
Magnoliae Officinalis, Cx [hou po] 1
Ginseng, Rx [ren shen] 2
Angelicae Sinensis, Rx [dang gui] 3
Platycodi, Rx [jie geng] 1
Zingiberis Recens, Rz [sheng jiang] 3
Zizyphi Jujubae, Fr [da zao] 1
Glycyrrhizae, Rx [gan cao] 1

Cautions:
   Contraindicated during pregnancy.
 


   Associated Modern Diseases: acute uncomplicated appendicitis, acute cholecystitis, acute pancreatitis, post-operative constipation, roundworms in bile duct, early-stage dysentery, pneumonia.
